Commissioned research

A clearer evidence base for a specific decision.

Discuss a psychedelic research briefing around the question your team needs to resolve. We start with the decision, define the scope, and agree what a review should deliver before work begins.

Bring a question that changes your next step

A useful briefing begins with a concrete uncertainty. A research group might need to know whether two apparently conflicting findings measured the same outcome. A biotech team might need to separate animal mechanism studies from human observations. A science writer might need the primary sources and caveats behind a public claim.

Teams assessing a research program can use the same approach to identify which assumptions need further examination. These are questions about evidence and research planning. A briefing does not provide treatment recommendations, investment advice, regulatory approval or a substitute for specialist due diligence.

What we can scope together

Depending on the question and available sources, a commissioned review can be scoped to include:

  • A source-linked claim table. The claim, cited paper, studied population, measure, comparator and follow-up, with missing information identified.
  • A comparison of findings. Where studies align or disagree, with differences in methods and populations kept visible.
  • An assumptions and limitations record. Which conclusions depend on an inference, what evidence is absent, and what would change the reading.
  • A review packet. Specific questions for a subject expert, source links and an explicit account of what has and has not been reviewed.

An evidence map can help navigate that record. Its connections do not establish causality or turn similar papers into independent replications. Read our research reading guide for the distinctions a briefing should preserve.

Inspect a public example first

The psilocybin and brain rewiring dossier shows the current format, including source records, limitations and a proposed interpretation awaiting expert review. Explore its paper and claim map to see how the record can be navigated. This example demonstrates the published approach; it is not a claim of completed independent validation or a promise that every topic has the same evidence coverage.

Tell us what you need to decide

Include your question, audience, timeline and any papers already under consideration. Scope, source access, deliverables, expert involvement, timing and commercial terms need to be agreed separately. Sending an inquiry does not start a paid engagement. Please keep patient information and other sensitive records out of the form.
